THE REBUILD

We measured the old spring and counted two coils into the length of the old spring. We marked the new spring where we were going to cut it

We ground the spring flat and allowed it to cool

We cut the spring to the desired length

Using a high temperature blow torch, we heated the end we had just cut

Whilst still hot, we gently tapped and compressed the end about half a coil
